Yes I think that $190.00 is to much for a modern times item, a lot of this is pushed up by stamp dealers and not really worth what they want, much like real estate, however an item is only ever worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. I have just purchased some similar items for nowhere like this price, so check or shop around, check auction sites and you will or maybe surprised.

Hi Steven,
Glad I finally discovered your reply.
I follow and do understand your line of thinking which I respect.
Globally the postal system has dramatically changed the last 5 years and even before, presently the metamorphosis continues in 1st World Countries to better and faster. In Third World Countries the latter is slowed because of lacking modern infrastructure which in a way is good for postmark collector.
Today here in NZ we get inkjet cancels, labels for plastic envelopes and old type round PO cancels at very few outlets but that you know as well.
Older collectors have a better understanding of what to collect though it can not be gospel and some collect for only their own enjoyment. Most use their collecting skills to advance their knowledge and in this process needs literature to obtain yhe better item. The chase of the Hunt and an item unique makes one proud, often with a search/found history attached.
People do collect postal history which is beyond the mere stamp. This cover serves to educate and the new owner will be equiped with the merits of the cover, price would be ultimately superfluous compared with some modern mint special edition items.
