Dear 'Gulfmann',

Recently seen in another forum:-

>>Interestingly maxi-cards don't have to be postmarked on the first day but the postmark does have to be appropriate and it should be during the period of sale or validity.<<

To your opinion, is the bold section of the statement true ? I have always thought a first day cancel makes it a philatelic maxicard. Any other day would be a special event card if it has a special cancellation as well.

What do you say ?

The first day issue date postmarking is the first choice for maxicards making,
of course, any special event postmarks will related to the topic of maxicards,
also acceptable even not on first day issue date,
as you can see my personal collections, most of the Taiwan maxicards in my
collections was hand cancelled by myself, its a great pleasure and enjoy to
making all the nice self-made maxicards.
