Received this Feedback for an item bid on and paid in full the following working day.

>>Recommended to other traders Thanks for doing business with .... Feedback placement does not necessarily signify payment received or goods dispatched. We do not monitor feedback comments please contact direct.<<

It tells me that I am recommend to other traders and am thanked for doing business with the seller.

What is concerning is the highlighted part.

This feedback does NOT acknowledge having received my payment NOR his commitment to have sent the article paid for.

In fact it tells the next bidder that I am good for business, maybe even to be ripped off as I have yet, after 7 days later - to receive my paid goods.

It is amazing that some long standing sellers evolve to such arrogance but then it is because we as buyers fail - as I have, in avoiding such a seller.

Enjoy your Hobby, the above was not about a philatelic item.

Erich,

That is so odd. I've never seen a seller leave feedback like that before. I'm not sure what he or she was intending, but it sounds like they are trying to provide a legal disclaimer that just because they are leaving feedback doesn't mean they've received your payment.

Very odd. What site was this on? Have you received the item yet? Did you pay by PayPal or credit card?

Hi Diane,

I can think of a few other words than - odd !

In a week or less I expect the item after having paid to detail they provided.

Of course it is a sort of rediculous disclaimer. It allows them to give feedback even if the item has not been sent or even paid for.

The FB was received after payment was made - 'thank you for the payment but we can not YET commit' to 'having received your money nor if the item was sent off to you'

They do recommend me to other traders - 'thank you, you may try to rip this guy off too'

I suspect the item to arrive, as little gets lost on this Island apart from commonsense.

I guess the thing about feedbacks is that you will be doing business only with people who have a good number of positive feedbacks and not just due to a single or few ones. To accumulate the positive feedbacks would take some time.

Hi 'colnector'

That is of course quite right and always a problem when you start off on a new selling site.

I was however the buyer so my $13 loss will be tax deducted and thatmeans spit to me and obviously many others since he is now collecting red faces.

Why such unscrupulous dealers get to use selling platforms is only reflectant of the inertia of the latter.

However thanks for the link to a great site. Will view again.
