Dear Collectors and Friends,
I have specially created a website, The Penny Black Store http://pennyblackstore.blogspot.com dedicated to provide collectors and philatelic enthusiasts with a central knowledge resource and database that brings together other bits of information about the Victorian 1840 1d Penny Black. This site consolidates information into a single, purposeful repository here and I have provided sources and acknowledgements at the end of each post just in case readers might want to read more from the actual source. By having a centralised blog, it is hoped that the collecting and appreciation of the Penny Black stamp can be made much easier and fully enjoyed.
I am also using this site as a place to network and to sell quality Penny Black stamps. The Penny Black is the world's first adhesive postage stamp that was used in a public postal system and issued in the United Kingdom on 1 May 1840. Penny Blacks are not rare stamps but holds a significant piece of history and would make it a very valued piece in most collections.
